The Dreaper Name & The Greenogue Stable
Few names in National Hunt Racing resound quite as loudly as Dreaper. An indisputable fixture in the history of the sport, the Greenogue stable in County Meath has been home to some of racing’s greatest stars, such as Arkle, Prince Regent and Flying Bolt and, more recently, Brown Lad, Ten Up, Carvill’s Hill, Merry Gale and Notre Pere.
The routine at Greenogue has evolved over the years to incorporate the training methods of Tom Dreaper, his son Jim and grandson Thomas, culminating in a system based on solid tradition, instinct and the most effective and modern approaches available today.
While the yard has retained its characteristic features, such as the stone stables, the tack room and feed house, over the years Jim and Patricia have added new stable units and the very latest in training facilities. These advances, and the carefully selected staff, mean that Greenogue continues to turn out top level horses, prepared to take on the field.
